Background:
The Ancient Spanish Monastery is unlike any other Miami wedding venue. It's a medieval monastery that was build in the year 1133 AD and was transported from Spain in 1925 & rebuilt in the U.S in 1953 and was called "the biggest jigsaw puzzle in history" by Times Magazine. Today, The Ancient Spanish Monastery offers a truly magical setting for your special day. Their formal gardens showcase over 20 acres of rare palms, Spanish oaks, cycads, banyans, flowering trees, and much more. The Romanesque and Gothic architecture of this beautiful and historic venue provides a dramatic setting for your Spanish Monastery wedding.
Make your wedding extra special with its historic ambiance and atmosphere
The Monasteries landscaped grounds include five outdoor spaces for weddings along with three beautiful chapels to choose from so that your wedding can be tailored to your budget, the size of your wedding party, and the number of guests. All fees include a one-hour ceremony and half an hour for pictures. The Main Chapel is perfect for weddings with up to 150 guests, and its rental price includes the organist and pipe organ already. Next is the Chapter House, which is a smaller chapel that seats up to 80 guests. The rental fee consists of the organist and portable keyboard. And the last chapel is the French Altar, which is an intimate Chapel for up to 10 guests. The rental fee does not include music. Receptions are most often held in the Cloisters of the 12th century Romanesque and Gothic building. The Cloisters' covered passageways are perfect for a served dinner, buffet dinner, or food stations. The halls surround an open courtyard, which is perfect for music and dancing.
Other reception spaces include the Loggia and the Gardens. Unlike any other South Florida location, the formal gardens of the Ancient Spanish Monastery showcase over 20 acres of rare palms, Spanish oaks, cycads, banyans, flowering trees, and much more. The landscaped grounds, with the 12th century Romanesque and Gothic building as a backdrop, will make for an unforgettable event.
