Villa Woodbine was designed by celebrated Miami architect Walter De Garmo, famous for his Mediterranean-Renaissance style and designed some well-known buildings like the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove. His impressive, open-air designs of central courtyards and large loggias with Spanish arches particularly adapted to the Miami climate with its warm tropical breezes. De Garmo designed many of Miami's first hotels and homes, yet sadly only a few remain today. He also assisted in the design of Miami's showcase Museum, Villa Vizcaya, formerly the home of James Deering.
One of the most beautiful early 20th century Mediterranean Revival estates remaining in Coconut Grove
